Submissions open + Welcome to our new staff!
First, if you haven’t heard already, submissions for Issue 8 (Winter 2013) are now open!
Next, we’re excited to announce a few new changes to our staff. From our very first issue we’ve been so fortunate to have Donora Hillard with us a our resident poetry editor, helping us select the very best poems for each issue. It’s been a true honor and privilege to work with her, and now, as she moves on to other fantastic things, we wish her nothing but the best.
But fear not!
We’ve managed to land a new poetry editor, one we are as equally excited about who brings a treasure-trove of experience and enthusiasm to Midwestern Gothic!
Starting with Issue 8, we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Christina Olson to the staff as our new poetry editor!

We’re also excited to welcome C.J. Opperthauser to the staff as a new copyeditor!
C.J. is a tremendous author and poet who has had pieces featured by Midwestern Gothic in the past, and he’s going to be a wonderful addition to our team.
