okay, jack will get the above quote and i know he’ll appreciate it.

anyway, making headlines today is the story of idaho senator larry craig, a republican who back in june was apprehended in an airport bathroom by an undercover cop who was investigating supposed reports of lewd conduct. wait…what?

the arresting officer alleged that craig lingered outside a restroom stall where the officer was sitting, then entered the stall next door and blocked the door with his luggage…craig tapped his right foot, which the officer said he recognized “as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct.”

so basically, this guy was trying to get some action, in an airport bathroom nonetheless, by signaling to a stranger with his foot that he was primed, potentially lubed, and ready to party. now, the best part to all of this is that craig immediately pleaded guilty to the charge. this week, however, after quitting mitt romney’s presidential campaign, craig had this to say:

in hindsight, i should not have pled guilty. i was trying to handle this matter myself quickly and expeditiously.”

ha. what a load! seriously. that’s like burning a house down, telling the cops after they’ve discovered you watching nearby with matches and a gas can that you in fact were the arsonist, then a while later saying “oh, no. you misunderstood me. i didn’t burn the house down. i was just confused and felt pressured. i should have asked my lawyer what to say.”

this guy is a moron. a full-fledged idiot. how would anyone think that pleading guilty right away would not make you actually appear guilty? and this man, a man who wanted to play glory hole with a male plainclothes officer, recent dodged allegations of being homosexual and in 1982 was under investigation for having sexual relations with congressional pages (of the male variety). he just can’t seem to get his story straight!

what really makes me mad, though, is that craig is wholeheartedly against same-sex marriage and is considered a loyal conservative by republicans with strong morals and values. now, i could give two craps if he was gay or not, doesn’t matter. what annoys about this is that how against homosexuals he is, perhaps being one himself:

he has supported a federal constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, telling his colleagues that it was “important for us to stand up now and protect traditional marriage, which is under attack by a few unelected judges and litigious activists.”

wow. so you want to protect traditional marriage by going down on some guy in the bathroom? this guy deserves a beat down. nothing lethal, mind you, but just a good, old fashioned whoopin. and i think it’s fairly safe to assume that this man is indeed a hypocrite. and the worst kind. he’s the type who loudly voices his opinion, even when no one really cares, and then bashes everyone for being against him. this man, who may or may not be a closeted homosexual, has the appall to do and say the things he has.

what a class act, right? well, maybe with senator craig gone from his staff, mr. romney actually stands a chance. probably not, but you never know.
