Yes! I knew they existed - the elusive merpigs of Hawai’i! Okay, so I seriously have no reason to bring up this story other than the picture of the pig is cute:

Some fisherman found a pig swimming tirelessly in the ocean at least a mile offshore. They brought him on the boat and released the little fella back on the beach where he scampered cutely into the jungle with a wrinkling of his nose and a joyous squeal.

Isn’t life grand when it works out like this?

Too bad the porker was caught an hour later by a local hunter and slaughtered to feed his hungry family. ::sigh::
