Holy crap! Republican Presidential hopeful Senator John McCain’s mom is still alive!

Really? The 71-year-old McCain introduced his 95-year-old mother, Roberta, at a retirement community in South Carolina. I managed to dig up a video of ole Roberta that was taken by an orderly on a day when she forgot to take her meds. The glowing is her arthritis acting up.

But seriously, in a move to prove that he has “good genes” and that he isn’t too old to become President of the United States of America, McCain dragged his entombed mother from her humid Arizona casket and betrothed her to the crowd of similarly thin-skinned and blue-haired geriatrics to appease to their wandering minds. Overall it was a smashing success, the majority of the 200 residents excited at the possibilities of a McCain White House - although, truth be told, most of them won’t be alive to see this happen.

But the highlight from this gala had to be the emaciated and cranky 103-year-old Faye Trueblood who seemed to be in a particularly irritable mood. First off, she had this to say about the number of GOP candidates in the running and her feelings on McCain:

“They just keep joining - like Thompson,” she said of Fred Thompson, the actor and former Tennessee senator. “Thompson’s interfering with my feelings about this guy.”

Yes, way to stick to the real issues, Faye. And just when the McCain troop thought they had gotten away from publicity stunt with no awkward soundbites, Faye jumped back up and yelled to anyone within earshot:

“I’ll tell you one thing, I don’t like Romney.”

Supposedly this hatred stems from Romney’s Mormon faith and little more.

Overall, Senator McCain, great turnout and nice work proving that you can resuscitate your mother long enough to show that will indeed steep to any level to pull this one out. If anything, I’m voting against you now purely because of this debacle (not that you had a chance for my vote anyway).
